Altomünster decides on new property tax: Farmers are concerned about lifting rates!
The Altomünster municipal council decided on new lifting rates for property tax at a heated meeting, and the tensions are boiling! The lifting rate for property tax A shoots from 400 to 495 percent, while property tax B fortunately drops from 360 to 280 percent. The decision was made after a bitter discussion marathon that heavily heated the minds.
behind the scenes, however, it is boiling - numerous measuring notices are probably incorrect! Mayor Michael Reiter (FWG) exposed a shocking case: With two identical double houses, the notices are more than 100 percent apart! This threatens a flood of objections to the tax office. In reality, property tax revenue could be far lower than planned, because the assumed revenues deceive the community.
The challenge of property tax A
The administration proposes alarming changes to raise property tax A for agricultural areas from 400 to 525 percent. The goal: to approach the desired financial goal, since the measurement amounts were previously reduced. But that causes anger among the farmers! CSU politicians like Josef Riedlberger denounce a clear injustice. Houses at agricultural courtyards must now be taxed under the higher property tax B - another painful blow for the farmers!
Mayor Reiter makes it clear that the financial situation of the community is critical. The increasing expenses for the district levy make it necessary to secure the income. It gets slippery because these high lifting rates have made Altomünster the most expensive community in the area! To ensure a stable financial foundation, while at the same time you keep justice, remains an almost unsolvable challenge.
The vote on the five different stimulus proposals ended without a clear majority. But finally a compromise prevailed - 495 for property tax A and 280 for property tax B. The entire property tax rate could now land at around 1.06 million euros. But the uncertainty remains - all appeals are clarified and how will the situation develop by 2025? The future of Altomünster's finances hangs in the suspension!
