Coburg runs strong: second place at Stadt Land on foot in Germany!

Coburg, Deutschland - The city of Coburg once again achieved impressive results at the Germany -wide “Stadt Land” campaign. With an incredible 31,546 kilometers, Coburg took second place in the federal comparison and among the independent cities with fewer than 100,000 inhabitants. Mayor Dominik Sauerig emphasizes that even bad weather is not a reason not to be active, and encourages the citizens to cover their ways on foot. For the first time, the competition with Germany -wide participation took place. As early as 2022, Coburg won the overall victory in this category, where the team showed an outstanding performance with over 18,000 km. The competition not only promotes movement, but also sets a sign of sustainable mobility. Numerous running clubs contributed to the collection of the kilometers by participating. Edzard Wirtjes, the initiator of the campaign, highlighted the importance of active lifestyle and health.
