The municipal council decides for important measures for Rettenbach and Langau!

Rettenbach, Deutschland - In Rettenbach it is bubbling! At the most recent council meeting in the fire station, the tense financial situation of the municipality was put on the agenda. Mayor Alois Hamperl opened the meeting and informed about the planned filling of a meadow in Langau, which is to be filled with 12,750 cubic meters of unencumbered excavation. However, this measure is not without challenges, since the area is in the landscape protection area and a piped water runs through the meadow.

The financial situation is alarming! Stefan Griesbeck from VG Falkenstein reported a dramatic decline in trade tax revenue by 193,000 euros, caused by reimbursements. For 2025, a further decline for 100,000 euros will be forecast, while the levies to the administrative community and the district levy increase by a total of 63,000 euros. These negative developments throw a shadow on budget planning.

tax rates and fee adjustments

The municipal councils also voted on the new real tax rates: Property tax A was set at 310 points, while trade tax remains at 370 points. In addition, the sewer use fees were adjusted for various systems, which could further increase the financial burden on the citizens. The wastewater fee in Aumbach is raised to 5 euros per cubic meter, which could still exacerbate the already tense situation.

a ray of hope? The school's general renovation was discussed, with some measures such as the airtight measurements and the construction of a eaves gravel strip. But the financial challenges remain, and the municipality urgently has to find solutions to restore financial stability.
