First snow in Bavaria: Winter Wunderland in the Cham district!
Schernfeld, Deutschland - Winter has reached Bavaria! On Wednesday afternoon, November 13th, the south of the Cham district turned into a magical winter wonderland. The first snow of the season fell in several regions of the Free State and ensured a wintry atmosphere that amazed people. The German Weather Service (DWD) confirmed that a cold slump, caused by a pronounced deep in higher air layers, is responsible for the unexpected snowfall.
The winter flakes not only fell in the mountains, but also in the deeper layers. Pictures from the Cham district show how the snow remains on garden furniture and leaves and the landscape covers a white dress. There was also snowfall in the district of Eichstätt, but it is still too warm for a closed blanket of snow. In Schernfeld, where a photo was taken, the snow remains rather sporadic and shows that winter has not yet been completely arrived.
Winter prediction - glading in Bavaria!
The DWD also warns of possible smoothing conditions that can occur from the evening of November 13th to Thursday, November 14th. Slipful road conditions could occur, especially at altitudes of over 500 to 800 meters. The state capital of Munich could also be affected if the temperatures continue to decrease. While the cold is temporarily moving in, the meteorologists expect that it will be milder again for the weekend, with temperatures between three and ten degrees. The winter signs are only the beginning of an exciting weather spectacle in Bavaria!
