In the municipality of Arrach there are significant changes on the agenda. One of the most important points is to resign the lifting rates that have become necessary after the Federal Constitutional Court declared the old system for property tax assessment as unconstitutional in 2018. This reform ensures that the municipality will adapt the lifting rates for property tax A and B to 230 % from January 1, 2025 and adjust the trade tax to 330 %.

Managing Director Michael Weiß explains that these adjustments aim to maintain the previous income level, although the individual tax burden will vary. Mayor Gerhard Mühlbauer emphasizes how much effort and work went into the calculation: "There is a lot of brainworm and work in it," he says.

The local council also dealt intensively with various building applications. Among other things, the emergency protection of a listed grain box in Ottmannszell was approved. The applicant plans to rebuild cantilevered components and store the building with the weather. The grain box, a historical building from 1612, is restored with the monument office.

In addition, the fire renovation of the inn and pension "Arracher Hof" was unanimously decided, which is to be converted into an overnight stay. Other failed applications concerned the construction of a single -family house and the approval of a privacy fence. The board of the auditing committee, Dominik Meindl, reported that all open points from the budget reports from 2021 and 2022 were properly clarified.

There is also progress in the area of digital infrastructure. Mayor Mühlbauer informed that the municipality ordered 75 digital pagers for the fire brigade to strengthen the operational readiness. The total cost of this is around 41,000 euros, with the majority of the Free State of Bavaria.

On the subject of broadband, the municipality of Arrach wants to further upgrade in the future. Despite the existing good bandwidths, there are no properties on a fiber optic connection that is essential for the modernized property development. "Glass fiber communication is no longer the future, but already the present," emphasizes Mühlbauer. Since no provider is currently willing to continue the expansion of their own economic, the municipality has decided to take part in the expansion with the own operation of digital infrastructure of the Cham district.

For around 1,000 addresses, a fiber optic connection is planned as part of the construction project, the start of which is planned for 2026. According to the funding, the municipality remains an estimated 1.6 to 2.4 million euros, an investment that is considered necessary to secure the quality of life of the citizens.
