A dramatic incident shook the Berchtesgaden Region on Saturday morning! A 35-year-old farmer was seriously injured in tree felling near his farm when a split tree piece hit him with full force. The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m., and the first reports of the Bavarian Red Cross describe the shocking details: the trunk was thrown up and hit the man on the shoulder and foot.

Family members of the injured reacted quickly and provided first aid as they alerted the Traunstein control center. Rescue workers from the Berchtesgadener Red Cross, including an emergency doctor and a head of operations, immediately made their way to the scene of the accident. The Berchtesgaden volunteer fire brigade was also happy to use Maria's fire truck.

The rescue workers had to look after the injured farmer in the stream bed of the Gerner Bach. After the primary care, it was transported with a rescue board from the rough terrain. The Salzburg emergency helicopter "Christophorus 6" took over the emergency patient and immediately flew it to the Salzburg accident hospital.
