India and Germany: Together for Green Future and Nutrition Security!

An important step in international cooperation: The governments of India and Germany have further strengthened the German-Indian partnership for Greens and sustainable development under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Federal Chancellor Scholz. Dr. Bärbel Kofler, a central figure in this mission, emphasizes that cooperation with India is entering a new phase. The two countries bundle their strength to tackle global challenges such as nutritional security and sustainable agriculture.

joint projects for a better future

As part of this initiative, Germany and India will create joint projects in Ethiopia and Madagascar that concentrate on the cultivation and processing of millet. Mire is considered an inexpensive, nutrient -rich and climate -resistant plant, which thrives particularly in dry climate zones. This cooperation should not only improve nutritional security in the affected regions, but also create new political alliances that are crucial for coping with global challenges such as climate change.

The existing triangular cooperations with Ghana, Cameroon and Malawi are also continued and expanded. Among other things, these projects promote the cultivation of bamboo, innovative potato seeds and support women-guided farms. India, the most populous country in the world and the third largest issuer of greenhouse gases, plays a key role in the global climate protection agenda. Cooperation with India includes numerous areas, including renewable energies, sustainable urbanization and gender justice, to secure a future worth living for our planet.
