An exciting chapter for the Gautrachtenfest 2025: It will take place in Traunstein! The decision that turns the festival from a slimmed -down version in Schönau to a full -fledged event was confirmed by area representative Michael Brandt. Together with the GTEV "Eschenwald" Rettenbach and the GTEV "D 'Gmiadlichn Hochbergler", the "Festival Community Gaufest Traunstein 2025" will organize the celebrations. The special? Traunstein is also celebrating the 650th anniversary of the city rights!

"We would have managed that too, but only on a smaller scale. Now we are looking forward to a really large Gauestest in Traunstein!" Explains Brandt. Gaupresswort Inge Erb also affirmed the anticipation: "Our Berchtesgadener would have organized a great festival Sunday, and we will let her live in Traunstein next year." The two clubs, which originally wanted to plan the replacement gaufest at the large car park of Königssee, also show solidarity with the Traunstein costume friends.

The board members Tobias Kastner and Michael Böhm of the GTEV D’Funnenseer and the Schönau Christmas shooters agree: "We are very happy that the Gaufest 2025 can now take place as a full festival in Traunstein. This is the best solution!" Logistics for a smaller event would have been a challenge, and the costs for alternatives were unaffordable. In Traunstein, the conditions are optimal, those responsible have already proven several times.

The Gautrachtenfest has a long tradition in Traunstein, where it already took place five times, most recently in 2000. The festival week will take place from July 18 to 27, 2025 and promises an unforgettable experience with highlights such as the Gauheim evening on July 19 and the festival on July 20. The Berchtesgaden valley kettle will also be strongly represented at Bavaria's largest traditional costume festival. "We look at a great gaufest in Traunstein, which will further strengthen the community in the Gauverband I," said Kastner and Böhm. It will be a festival that could go into the history books!
