Ceremonial opening of the new deanery in Bad Reichenhall!
Bad Reichenhall, Deutschland - In Bad Reichenhall, a significant religious change has taken place: Archbishop Reinhard Kardinal Marx has appointed Markus Moderegger as the new dean of the Catholic parish church. This appointment follows after discussions with members of the dean's conferences and the dean's councilors from the surrounding regions of Berchtesgaden and Teisendorf. Pastor Wernher Bien, who comes from the parish association Ainring, will be at hand.
To celebrate this important innovation, a festive pontifical service took place in the St. Nikolaus parish church. Auxiliary Bishop Rupert Graf zu Stolberg, the bishop's vicar for the pastoral region of South in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising, led the fair. The pastors of the new dean's office also participated as concelebrants, while a mixed choir under the musical direction of Angela Hanke and Peter Voitz created a festive atmosphere.
symbolism and solemn design
The parish church of St. Nikolaus was festively decorated with flowers and flags for this occasion. Particularly noteworthy was the relic of St. Korbinian, the patron saint of the archbishopric, which was brought to Bad Reichenhall for the service. The small box that contained the relic was set up in front of the altar. In addition, delegations from the parish associations brought flower bulbs and earth that were distributed according to the fair in order to symbolically underline a new start together.
In his opening address, Dean Moderegger welcomed the big festival company and thanked in particular the many volunteers who work in different bodies. He emphasized: "You are a face to give the church." Among those present were also the political persons like District Administrator Bernhard Kern and Minister of State Michaela Kaniber.
The fair began with the presentation of the nine parish associations that are active in the new dean's office and gave the worshipers a first overview of the structure of the newly founded dean's office. Auxiliary Bishop Graf zu Stolberg then read the decree decree, which formulated clear guidelines for future pastoral care. The intention is that the best possible pastoral care in the parishes can only be guaranteed if certain tasks are shifted to another level.
of the challenge for motivation
In his sermon, the Auxiliary Bishop questioned the new dean's structure: "Make one of two, and everything will be fine. But it's not that easy." He emphasized that it is a challenge in today's society to maintain a lively church life. A colorful wall made of colorful stones served him as a metaphor to illustrate: "People are the living stones of the church." The foundation of the Church is the belief in Jesus Christ, who gives people strength and hope.
Graf zu Stolberg also addressed the worrying number of church exits and expressed the desire that this should not be left behind Christianity. He asked the gathered to work and represent the values of the church. "The power of Christianity does not come from the majority.
After the sermon, the members of the new dean's team were officially commissioned. The service ended with a musical ceremony in which Dean Moderegger thanked the altar servers for their service and praised the choir for his "angel song".
After the service, a small celebration took place in the parish home of St. Zeno, which was filled with various speeches. There will be reported separately in the near future.
