Voluntary heroes: Citizens of the Berchtesgadener Land!

In an impressive honor, three citizens were honored at the Berchtesgadener Land district office on December 19, 2024 for their special merits. District Administrator Bernhard Kern, who praised the outstanding performance of the three honored, took over the ceremonial award of the Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann. The honored are Karl Sießmeier, Sophia Stanggaßinger and Beppo Maltan. Sießmeier, who was active in the market council from 1978 to 1996, made a name for itself in numerous structural improvements and the establishment of a school sports field in Marktschellenberg. He also documents the local history as an archivist and ensures the cultural heritage of the community. Stanggaßinger has represented the interests of the residents in the municipal council since 2002 and actively participated in the village renewal. Maltan, who has been a municipal council since 2002, is particularly committed to the construction committee and as a senior representative in Schönau am Königssee. District Administrator Kern thanked them for their tireless efforts for the well -being of the citizens.
