Furious ice hockey thriller: Falken defeat Tigers with 7: 5!
In ice hockey there is no bridge day! Just two days after their home game against Deggendorfer SC, the Heilbronn Falcons competed in Bayreuth. Coach Frank Petrozza was able to count on Robin Just's return, while strikers Nolan Ritchie and Manuel still failed. Patrick Berger kept his place in the goal.
The game started with a faster development when the falcons took the lead in the first minute. Alec Zawatsky scored the first goal after he was able to give a shot undisturbed. The following power play goal by Calder Anderson also strengthened the dominance of the guests, which quickly increased to 3: 1. However, the hosts, who have a former falcon with Sam, did not remain unobtrusive and were able to shorten the gap. But in the first third, the falcons managed to increase the distance again, which initiated the game 3-1 for them.
turning point in the middle third
Zawatsky impressed everyone again at the beginning of the second third with a strong shot, which means that the falcons expanded their lead to 4: 1. Despite further opportunities and a powerful game, the forces of the falcons faded and they had to face an outnumber of Bayreuth. Reflection once again showed his danger and used a rebound to reduce the score to 4: 3. With a variety of punishments for the falcons, these were soon on the defensive, without further goal they survived the middle third with a narrow lead of 4: 3.
In the last section, the game remained exciting. The pressure on the falcons increased and they were often outnumbered. Sam distinguished, who turned out to be a sniper, finally equalized the 5: 5, which caused the hosts to draw new hope. In a decision-making situation, however, the falcons managed to take the lead again through an overnight situation-Thomas Supis took the opportunity and scored the 6: 5. When the Tigers threw everything on the offensive and took their goalkeeper off the ice, Brett Ouderkirk secured victory with a goal into the empty goal. Another goal from Zawatsky, who marked his fourth goal, set the end of this exciting encounter.
The next appearance of the falcons will be on the schedule against the EV Füssen on Sunday, and the team will surely go into the next game with the momentum of this victory.
