Baroque Volleys lose dramatically against Mühldorf: coach disappointed!

A dramatic duel in the second volleyball Bundesliga ended for the Baroque Volleys MTV Ludwigsburg with a painful home defeat against TSV Mühldorf. The Ludwigsburger had to give up 1: 3 on Sunday and thus slip into the 12th place in the table.

The game started anything but promising for the hosts. Despite the debut of newcomer Tim Köpfli, the start was bumpy and shaped by numerous mistakes. The first two sentences clearly went to the Mühldorfer, who convinced with strong assumption and excellent defense (25:19, 25:19). But the Baroque Volleys did not give up! In the third sentence they finally showed their potential: with Mykyta Shapovalov, which was voted silver MVP, the diagonal position, the Ludwigsburgers managed to win the sentence for themselves with 25:22. A glimmer of hope in an otherwise cloudy game.

The fourth sentence developed into a true thriller! Both teams fought a gripping duel in which the tour constantly changed. Ludwigsburg led 24:23, but the Bavarians defended four set balls. The tension increased immeasurably when the Baroque Volleys were able to equalize two match balls from the Mühldorfer. But finally it was Mühldorf that scored the crucial point at 31:29 and thus took the three points home. The foreign attacker Fabian Bartsch was voted Gold MVP and crowned his strong performance.

coach Michael Dornheim was visibly disappointed after the game: "After the 0: 3 against Langen, this is the second defeat against opponents that we should have hit." The Baroque Volleys are now faced with the challenge of collecting points as soon as possible so as not to lose the connection to the middle of the table. The unrest in the team and the problem of injury do not make the Situation easier. A race against time begins!
