Customs press on undeclared work: controls in car workshops started!

In the past few days, the Financial Control of Blackwork of the Schweinfurt customs has carried out a number of controls in various car workshops and vehicle preparation systems in Lower and Upper Franconia. This initiative aims to combat undeclared work and illegal employment. Around 50 customs officers checked a total of 25 companies and interviewed 43 people about their employment relationships.

During these controls, the emergency services met with violations in three workshops. Five foreign citizens were found at work without the necessary residence permits. Investigation of these persons and their employers were initiated immediately and the corresponding cases were passed on to the responsible immigration authorities. In addition, there were signs of possible legal violations in 18 other cases, in particular with regard to compliance with social security obligations and the payment of the statutory minimum wage.

Investigations and control by customs

"With our year -round exams in a wide variety of industries, we constantly increase the persecution pressure on undeclared work and illegal employment," emphasized Benedikt Danz, spokesman for the Schweinfurt main customs office. He added that customs controls make an important contribution to fair working and competitive conditions. The checks are both suspected and information -related exams based on their own risk assessments.

According to the employee surveys, extensive exams of complex business documents often follow that can result in far -reaching investigations. These intensive controls are part of the continuous efforts of customs to combat illegal employment relationships in Germany.
