Bamberg, Deutschland - The district of Bamberg recently honored its committed traffic assistants. In a festive ceremony in the Bamberger Land farmers' Museum, 13 school pilots, 10 school bus pilots and 30 adult school path aids from Oberhaid and Keyfeld received documents and small gifts. Deputy District Administrator Bruno Kellner underlined the importance of traffic assistants for the safety of the school children. "Verkehrshelfer make an indispensable contribution to security in the district," remarked Kellner. The impressive balance sheet: In 2024 there was only one accident in the entire district secured by traffic assistants, while seven accidents in unsecured locations were registered, such as the Wiesentboot reported.

The honor of the traffic shelf was also reported elsewhere, where school pilots and school helpers from Baunach were also recognized. Here, too, the security balance was impressive: Since the last few years, in which the transitions secured by pilot, there has been no accident. Rector Rudolf Hennemann emphasized the need for these helpers, especially in a region with around 13,000 vehicles every day. The police and traffic education were also present to thank the students for their commitment and praise the cooperation. "This voluntary work is not a matter of course," said Alexander Streng, head of the Bamberg police inspection. Through the active integration and the reward from the VR-Bank Bamberg, the commitment of the school pilots is also promoted, as can be read on the official website of the Bamberg district.
