Protest against ILS closure: thousands fight for quick help in the Oberland!
In a dramatic outcry against the impending closure of the integrated control center (ILS) Oberland, over 3,400 people have already made their signature! The planned merger with the ILS in Fürstenfeldbruck causes excitement in the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Weilheim and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The citizens fear for their security in a Region that is characterized by mountains, rivers and lakes. An ambulance employee from Lenggries, Robert Ziller, leads the protest and emphasizes the vital importance of local expertise.
protest against ILS closure: security in danger!
Ziller, who looks back on 27 years of experience in the emergency services, warns of the consequences of centralization. "The dispatchers in Fürstenfeldbruck do not have the necessary experience with the specific challenges in our region," he explains. The citizens agree: "In terms of security for citizens in the Oberland, it must not be saved!" A doctor from Münsing emphasizes that the control centers have to know local conditions in order to be able to work effectively. The fear of loss of quality and poorer patient care is tangible.
The numbers speak volumes: millions of tourists, but where is security?
The region attracts 3.6 million overnight guests annually and over 7 million day visitors. Ziller criticizes that only the population is taken into account in the discussion about the merger. "The costs cannot yet be estimated, and the time frame of 14 months is far too short," he says. Despite the public protests, the special -purpose association remains hard and assured that security has a top priority. But the citizens are skeptical: "The decision is made whether the qualitative care of the patients must give way to the cost factor." The future of the ILS Oberland is on the brink, and people cannot simply be fed up!
