In the most recent meeting of the municipal council of Machtilshausen, a hotly discussed topic was on the agenda: the ground cabling and paving of the sidewalks in the construction area "Am Kehrweg". Mayor Johannes Krumm informed those present about the challenges that resulted from a citizenship application that has been causing excitement for years. The existing above -ground coaxial cabling is not only out of date, but also a financial problem for the community, since the earth cabling would have to be financed by itself.

The costs for a fiber optic connection amount to around 70 euros per month, while the development costs for house connections are high and there are no state grants available. In order to determine the need for fiber optic, a survey is to be carried out in a citizens' meeting. The Machtilshausen volunteer fire brigade also brought its concerns because it had to switch to the parking space at the old school due to lack of space in the fire station. The fire brigade plans to carry out the paving work itself, but needs support from the building yard for excavation and planning.

Another urgent point was the renovation of the hallway along the Wasserlosener Straße, which is in a catastrophic state and has deep potholes. However, there is no entitlement to expansion here, since no road construction contributions were paid. The market council is considering various options, including a complete road expansion or a provisional repair, whereby the residents are to be involved in the costs. The estimated costs for the complete expansion amount to around 70,000 euros.

In addition, the renovation of the asphalt surfaces in the sports facility was addressed, where several damaged areas have already been cut out. Edgar Wolf applied for a longitudinal concrete bristle, but the construction committee recommended that this measure were not carried out for cost reasons. The procurement of sun protection for the Elfershausen kindergarten was also decided, with the Hammelburg -based company Bergander being commissioned to assemble two sun sails. For the creation of an integrated urban development concept (ISEK), the planning office Schlicht/Lamprecht/Kern received the contract.
