Bus accident in Kleinostheim: driver seriously injured, numerous damage!

on Tuesday evening, January 7, 2025, there was a serious accident in Kleinostheim, Aschaffenburg district, with a regular bus. The 65-year-old bus driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons that were unexplained so far when he was traveling on Aschaffenburger Strasse towards Aschaffenburg. At around 6.30 p.m. the bus briefly got on the opposite lane and collided with two parked cars and several solid objects, including flower pot, a street lamp and a traffic light system.

In the incident, two people were injured: the bus driver suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to the hospital, while a 33-year-old passenger was slightly injured and also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Around a dozen passengers who were sitting on the bus at the time of the accident were able to continue their trip with replacement vehicles. The police assume a medical cause as a cause of the accident, but the investigation is still underway.

In addition to the health of the occupants, there are also considerable damage to property: all damaged vehicles were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. In addition, a power distribution box and adjacent concrete flower pot were damaged. The estimated property damage amounts to around 300,000 euros. The clean -up work and the accident recording by the police went until around 10 p.m. while traffic could be guided past the scene of the accident. The fire brigade Kleinostheim and BRK operations were on site to support.
