Sect scandal in Spain: Police smashed armed association!
In a shattering incident, the Spanish police have excavated a militant group that is heavily armed and classified as a sect. Three people were arrested while investigating eight other individuals. The allegations range from organized crime to fraud to coercion and assault. The investigation was initiated by the police, in particular the Guardia Civil, and focused on a gang based in the province of Cáceres, not far from the Portuguese border.
The Spanish authorities have identified over 100 victims since the beginning of the investigation, which have lost at least one million euros together. These frauds often happened under the pretext that the victims should sell their assets in order to financially support the "unification". "A large part of the income was invested in weapons," the police reported. It is believed that numerous other victims have not reported for fear.
The machinations of the association
The searches were ensured over 80 weapons, including silencers and more than 7,600 cartridges. In addition, the police found high cash amounts as well as mobile phones, tablets and computers in the apartments of the alleged members. Several bank accounts were also frozen as part of the investigation.
The leader of the group, who described himself as "Messiah" and supposedly spoke to Jesus every day, died of a heart attack in January. According to reports, his widow continued the activities of the association and is one of the people arrested. The group, which operated under the name "Ahora Estás en Casa" (now you are at home), used social networks to contact her victims. The embassy they propagated combined religious elements with a call for self -defense and an engaging rhetoric, which the members called on to arm themselves and to be prepared for possible attacks from outside.
In a recently published communiqué, the association announced that it would temporarily hire its activities. However, she did not react concrete to the allegations of the authorities and only explained: "We remain united and contribute to the investigation of all events." The situation remains tense and the investigation by the police does not seem to be complete yet.
