van Wissem, a master of his instrument, describes the sounds as “part of his body”. His passion for the complex music tradition runs through his career. Since the 90s he has created works that include the roots of the classic lute music of the Renaissance and Baroque as well as modern styles such as Drones and electronics. As a unique sound artist, he is celebrated by “The Quietus” as “probably the most famous lute player in the world”. His music is a captivating combination of intensive and meditative elements that combines the old and the new - an experience for every music lover!
