Dance against violence: Villingen sets signs for women on February 14th!

On February 14, 2025, the city center of Villingen becomes the scene of a powerful message against violence against women and girls! As part of the worldwide movement "One Billion Rising", all citizens are invited to gather a rousing flash mob at 12.45 p.m. The city of Villingen-Schwenningen calls for a strong sign of change!

"One Billion Rising" is more than just a dance action - it is an outcry against the terrifying reality that a billion women worldwide experience violence. This global campaign mobilizes people to show solidarity and demonstrate the unconditional will to change. "With this dance we not only send a clear no to violence, but also a powerful yes to solidarity," explains Hanna Vöhringer, the equality officer of the city, who organizes the event together with Lilli Epp from the district office.

"We not only dance to draw attention to the topic, but to show that we stand against violence together!" emphasizes Lilli Epp. Preparations are in full swing, and the city asks everyone to join this important movement. To make participation easier, the Gramlich dance school in Villingen offers free practice hours! The dates are: Sunday, December 1st, Sunday, December 8th, Monday, December 16, Monday, December 23 and Sunday, January 12, 2025.
