Free trip in Villingen: Kirnacher Straße renovated after 1.5 million euros!

Kirnacher Straße, 78050 Villingen-Schwenningen, Deutschland - Finally the time has come! Kirnacher Strasse in Villingen shines in new splendor after comprehensive construction work. On Tuesday, the longing to be completed of the renovation measures, which had started in April 2023 and cost a whopping 1.5 million euros. This is an incredible relief for residents and drivers: free travel is now guaranteed again!

This huge infrastructure project was an essential prerequisite for the development of the new city district of Oberer Brühl. A new channel over 200 meters was installed and could be completed before the winter break. In the second construction phase, which will begin in February 2024, the focus is on the redesign of the street: three wider sidewalks are created, which also offer space. In addition, 39 new parking spaces were created from paving stones and two new illuminated pedestrian crossings were installed - it couldn't be safer!

upgrading the Heidplatz and environmentally friendly measures

The Heidplatz was also upgraded around the historic fountain. The municipal utilities are part of the party, have laid lines for district heating, water and electricity and prepare the installation of e-charging points in the area of Pontalierstraße and Kirnacher Straße. These improvements in the wheel network opened up the opportunity to receive funding of 155,000 euros from the state of Baden-Württemberg. Mayor Detlev Bührer would like to thank the funding provider for the valuable support. The more than 1.5 million euros in investments in Kirnacher Straße show how important these measures are for the city!
