Strom network revolution on the Hochrhein: Information events for citizens!

The energy transition demands changes in the infrastructure, and the transmission system operators Amprion and TransnetBW make serious. A comprehensive renewal of the power line between Herbertingen and Sauldorf is planned to modernize the existing network and to meet the increased requirements. This project will be presented more precisely at two citizens' information markets, which take place on October 21 and 22 in Hohentengen and Ostrach.

The old line, which was in operation for around 90 years, is replaced by a new line that has two 380 kilovolt (KV) circuits. This measure is part of the necessary network reinforcement that is necessary in southern Baden-Württemberg due to the energy transition.

Insights into the project

Jonas Wolf, the project manager at Amprion, said that the second dialogue tour last year led to revising the plans in the affected communities. The preferred course of the new management project including the mast locations is now presented. Citizens are invited to inform themselves about progress and to present their concerns directly.

The information events are designed in such a way that flexible coming and going is possible. Jörg Weber, the project spokesman, underlines the importance of the events: "We take the suggestions of the citizens seriously and want to make the planning developed." This offers residents the opportunity to ask questions directly and give feedback.

The conversion of the power line is a significant step to ensure energy supply in the region. The entire section extends over around 40 kilometers and is part of a more extensive project that is anchored in the Federal Nerformance Act. Amprion plans to submit the application for the planning approval process at the Tübingen regional council in 2026, which represents another important milestone in this development process.

In the sign of the increasing energy carp, it is essential for Amprion and the partners involved to create modern and powerful infrastructures in order to master the challenges of the future. The integration of the citizens remains a central concern; From the beginning, they should be integrated into the planning process in order to promote a high degree of transparency and acceptance.

For more information and insights into the project, the citizens are cordially invited to take part in the events or to find out online. Instruments such as the hotline also offer a valuable platform for the exchange between Amprion and the residents.
