Soufyen Charni withdraws from CR Gastro - who is taking over now?

A big upheaval in the catering scene of Sigmaringen: Souffyen Charni, the well-known restaurateur, withdraws from the management of CR Gastro! After only two and a half years at the top, he will hand in his post at the end of the month and ended an era. Charni, who founded the CR Gastro together with the Zoller-Hof brewery, has reorganized his shops and will act in the background in the future.

The CR Gastro operates the popular brewing in the stall building in Sigmaringen as well as the trendy Wilhelm and the boathouse in the Seepark in Pfullendorf. These three restaurants employ between 120 and 130 employees! Charni explains that the organization of these companies is an enormous effort and that the work in summer simply became too much. "Organizing all of this is an enormous effort," says Charni. Nevertheless, he remains the operator of the boathouse in Sigmaringen and the Charlemagne Hotel, where he bears the sole responsibility.

A new managing director takes over

The withdrawal of Charni is not only a personal decision, but also the result of complicated decision-making channels within CR Gastro. Together with Ralf Rakel, the head of the Zoller-Hof brewery, Charni led the company, but different views led to tensions. "We often agreed, but there were also situations in which we had different views," admits Charni. In the future, Ralf Rakel will assume the sole responsibility as managing director, supported by operations managers who organize day -to -day business.

The handover to the new brewery boss, Leonard Sieben, who has been part of the management team since the beginning of the year, takes place in the Karls Hotel. Seven, who takes care of sales and staff, is grateful that Charni remains active as a partner: "We continue to sit in a boat," he emphasizes. A new chapter in Sigmaringen's gastronomy has started!
