The employment agency reports that the number of reported training positions is still above the number of applicants. Anke Traber, the head of the Balingen employment agency, emphasizes: "The young people are still spoiled for choice and can draw from numerous training offers." But the reality for the companies looks darker.

"The number of applicants continues to fall, and that makes it difficult for us to fill the vacancies," explains Traber. In the current professional consulting year, 1,430 young people were registered as applicants for company training - a decline of 6 percent compared to the previous year. At the same time, the training positions have only dropped by 2 percent, which also tightens the situation for companies.

The numbers speak a clear language: 920 training position seekers are compared in the Zollernalb district. In the district of Sigmaringen, the applicant's decline is even more dramatic - here the number fell by 14.6 percent. Despite these alarming developments, the companies have not given up. Over 3,290 trainees were sought, but almost 480 training positions remain vacant. However, the revenue campaign of the vocational counseling already shows success, and the hope of a solution for the remaining unequaled youngsters remains.

The employment agency does everything possible to bring the last unequaled young people into an apprenticeship. "We keep an eye on you and support you as long as you need our help," says Traber. The situation is tense, but the chances of an apprenticeship are not over yet. The companies and professional counseling work hand in hand to close the gaps and to secure the offspring for the future.
