Innovative textile projects shine in the Albstadt Museum!
In the Albstädter Maschenmuseum there is currently a remarkable special exhibition that deals with the textile courses of the local university for the first time. This represents a fascinating step, since the education sector now focuses on together with local textile companies. The exhibition shows a variety of innovative products that range from sustainable workwear to technical textiles. An example of this are footbans made of cold foam and sun sail, which have already been presented at the Balingen garden show.
The curators of the exhibition, Helene Leibinger and Christiane Dreher, worked with a lot of commitment to implementing. At the opening, Mayor Roland Tralmer emphasized the close cooperation between the university and the local textile companies. "The topics of the university are always on time and make a valuable contribution to the innovative strength of these companies," he said. Rector Ingeborg Mühldorfer added that Albstadt has an "almost invaluable" in its innovative companies. This intensive cooperation is shown in numerous projects, the results of which are presented here in the exhibition.
insights into the textile future
Susanne Goebel, the head of the mesh museum, emphasized that the exhibition not only directs the view of history, but also illuminates the future of the textile sector. "We want to show our visitors how exciting the field of textiles is and what diverse possible uses there are," she said. This idea is made by Prof. Dr. Christian Kaiser supports, who represents the textile courses. "We do a lot that goes far beyond public perception and bring this back to industry," he added. The focus is on combining tradition and new technologies and thus living the developments in Albstadt directly.
Visitors can visit the special exhibition in the mesh museum in Albstadt-Tailfingen, Wasenstraße 10, Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The admission price is four euros; discounted tickets cost two euros.
