Bronnweiler: With 70,000 euros for the preservation of the Marienkirche!

In Bronnweiler, citizens donated a total of 70,000 euros to preserve the Marienkirche. The idea presented in July was successfully implemented in favor of a foundation in favor of the Marienkirche. On the Epiphany, around 80 people took part in the foundation.

The pastor Christine Wandel said extremely positive about the donated sum. The amount of the donations exceeded their original expectations, which were 30,000 euros.

Details about the foundation

The official foundation of the foundation took place on January 6, 2025, the Epiphany Day. The foundation was launched to generate additional funds for the church's renovation and project financing. A minimal amount of 500 euros is required to enter the foundation, and a brochure and a drawing letter are available.

The current number of members of the Evangelical State Church in Bronnweiler is around 500, which corresponds to a decline in a municipality of 1,000 inhabitants. This initiative was also made necessary by the falling church tax revenue. The foundation should also appeal to those interested in art from outside.

The funds of the foundation could be used for various purposes, including renovations, buying heating pillows for benches, grants for lectures and concerts as well as the support of the youth center. The merger of the parish of Bronnweiler with Gönningen and Ohmenhausen on January 1, 2025 has no impact on the foundation, and the board of trustees remains the majority of Bronnweiler.

There is the possibility to choose between a consumption in which the entire sum is output, and a basic assets in which only the interest income can be used. The foundation is legally dependent and belongs to the regional church of Württemberg. Donations to the foundation can be taxed for tax purposes, and participation in services and concerts does not depend on the financial support of the foundation.
