New basic taxes in Abtsgmünd: What owners now need to know!

The municipality of Abtsgmünd is facing a crucial turn: The new lifting rates for property taxes A and B have been announced, and the house and property owners are wondering what this means for their wallets! From January 2025, the new property tax notices will be sent and the uncertainty is great. Do citizens have to expect higher payments or does everything remain the same? The property tax reform, which must be implemented nationwide according to a judgment of the Federal Constitutional Court, brings a breath of fresh air to the financial situation of the municipality.

In the recent meeting of the administrative committee, the new lifting rates were determined: For property tax A, a set of 400 percent and a set of 380 percent is proposed for property tax B. These numbers are crucial because they determine how much every owner ultimately has to pay. The amount is calculated from the property value, the measured value and the rate. A fictional example from the finance department shows that a owner of a small family home could only pay just under 300 euros instead of 422.59 euros. But not everyone gets so light!

For owners of larger properties, it gets much more expensive! If you have a single -family house with 1337 m², you will have to expect around 693 euros from 2025 - an increase of over 200 euros! Unbeduced land in construction areas are also affected: here the property tax increases from just under 60 euros to almost 650 euros! Farmers must also dig deeper into their pockets, with an increase of around 10 euros for large agricultural areas.

Mayor Armin Kiemel sees the property tax reform as a "step in the right direction". He hopes that the new regulations will help close the 150 vacant lots in Abtsgmünd. However, the municipality is planning to waive the introduction of property tax C for the time being in order not to further increase the already high fees for undeveloped land. The tension remains high while the citizens are waiting for the new notices!
