Kappelberg tunnel: Exploration work will be delayed by December 2024!
Fellbach, Deutschland - The exploration work around the Kappelberg tunnel in Fellbach run until around mid -December 2024! An unexpected setback caused by illness -related failures and additional votes due to wine books and crop protection. Despite these hurdles, three quarters of the work have already been completed - a bright spot in the middle of the delays!
Since July 1, 2024, the Stuttgart (RPS) regional council has carried out sections along the business routes in the vineyards. These measures are crucial to analyze the soil conditions and create the basis for the planned upgrading of the tunnel. Originally, the completion of the work for early/mid -November 2024 was planned, but now everyone involved has to prepare for a longer waiting time.
reasons for the delay
The delays are due to several factors. Disease -related failures among the companies involved and the increased coordination effort with regard to the wine books and crop protection measures have mixed up the schedule. Nevertheless, there is progress: the exploration work is progressing and those responsible are optimistic that the rest of the work can be completed soon.
After completion of the exploration work, the laboratory tests are pending to determine the landing values, followed by a geotechnical report that is expected to be presented at the end of February 2025. Only then can the design planning be promoted further. The RPS asks all road users for understanding the impairments during this important work.
