Ravensburg's Schussenpark: Green paradise for young and old is created!

In Ravensburg a new chapter will be opened! Mayor Daniel Rapp opened the construction site of the Schussenpark on Monday and the first excavators are already rolling! Citizens can be happy because the green oasis between the river and the railway tracks on the western train station will be completed next year. A place of relaxation and leisure activities that lets the city bloom!

with a budget of 4.6 to 4.9 million euros is created here! But Ravensburg can breathe a sigh of relief: thanks to generous funding of three million euros, the project can be realized. The shooting park will not only be a green lung for the city, but also an urgently needed sealing of the area, which has so far been dominated by a large asphalt parking lot. In addition, the shots is freed from its channel, which benefits not only nature, but also flood protection.

A place for all generations

The new park will be a real leisure paradise! Numerous benches, play equipment for children and space for sports such as street hockey and basketball are planned. A beer garden will complement the four neighboring restaurants and create a meeting point for young and old. "We also want, but not only, a place for the youth," said Rapp. Here not only can be chilled, but also celebrated loudly - without disturbing residents!

But not everything is perfect: A three and a half meter wide road is run on the edge of the park, which is declared as a bicycle road, but could also be used for industry access to industry. Rapp emphasizes that the road is kept as narrow as possible, but you can't completely do without it.
