Parking spaces at Ravensburg train station: Transitional solution causes trouble!

The parking lot situation at Ravensburger Bahnhof is becoming increasingly tense! While the construction work for the new Schussenpark on Escher-Wyss-Straße is in full swing, drivers only have a temporary solution. The CDU parliamentary group already raised the alarm in October: "All parking spaces have been eliminated since October 14th, and the bicycle storage facility has been dismantled! Commuters and visitors must not be restricted in their mobility," said CDU parliamentary group leader Antje Rommelspacher.

The city administration has now presented plans to improve the parking situation by the end of August 2025. On the west side of the railway line, 30 parking spaces are to be shown as P&R parking spaces, while the bank employees who previously parked there have to move to the P7 parking garage. In addition, there will be five short-term parking spaces in the WLZ building from December 1st, ideal for travelers who want to pick up or say goodbye to someone. But the remaining parking spaces in Escher-Wyss-Straße are charged and marked as P&R places.

Schussenpark: An expensive plan

The city administration emphasizes that the shuss park should increase the quality of life through ecological measures. But to make room for the park, many parking facilities have to give way! Drivers are asked to switch to the P7 parking garage, which is almost fully utilized. A topping up of the parking garage is considered a solution, but the city administration warns: "In order to improve the P7 for permanent use as a P&R, complex and costly renovation measures would be necessary."

The Greens reject further area sealing and criticize the city's plans. "The reduction of car traffic in the area of the park is crucial for the quality of stay," explains city councilor Maria Weithmann. The future of the parking situation at the Ravensburger train station remains uncertain, while the construction work continues to progress and drivers fall by the wayside!
