Safe together: Prevention association fights against criminal offenses in the Ravensburg district
A new club in the Ravensburg district has set the ambitious goal of preventing crimes before they arise. The association "Together safely in the Ravensburg district" was founded about nine months ago, with the participation of experts from the police, judiciary and municipalities. They support a variety of prevention projects, regardless of whether they were launched by institutions, communities or private individuals.
Initial measures have already been successfully implemented or financially supported. This includes, for example, the exhibition "Man behind" and the "Red Bank" project, which focuses on the important topic of "violence against women". The bank is produced by prisoners of the correctional facility in Ravensburg and can be established in the member municipalities.
Crime situation in the district
The currently available security reports show that the district of Ravensburg has not yet stated any significant crime. The chairman of the association Manuela Oswald, who is also mayor of Amtzell, made it clear that despite the rural structure and general security, there is also a complete spectrum of crimes. "We have real problems with violence, drug abuse and cybercrime in our communities," says Oswald.
In order to counteract this, all initiatives that aim to prevent crimes or to sensitize potential victims can apply for funding. One prerequisite for this is that the project is carried out in one of the member communities. The association hopes that as many cities and municipalities in the district will join this important concern. But private individuals, companies and associations are also cordially invited to become a member.
Short-term promotion of projects
The subsidies by the association are designed in such a way that they run unbureaucratically. "We do not grant long -term support for projects, but focus on targeted, unique subsidies, for example for certain purchases or for guest speakers," explained Oswald. At the moment, the number of funding applications is still manageable, which enables the association to quickly decide on the applications how they arrive. These decisions are made by circulation procedures among the board members.
In order to increase the awareness of the association and achieve a wider audience, the association plans to actively present itself at various events. Future measures also include the use of social media and the distribution of information materials. "It is important that the project initiators learn from us so that you can inquire about our financial support," emphasized the chairman Manuela Oswald.
