Large deployment in Vienna: Fire in the Caritas House puts Christmas in danger
A devastating fire in the underground car park of the Caritas House Noah in Vienna-Donaustadt caused excitement last Sunday. A burning car ignited, causing massive smoke development. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the 100 residents, who were previously homeless, had to be hastily evacuated, such as reported. The building is now uninhabitable, and the damage caused by smoke and defective water pipes force those affected to leave their neighborhood for several months.
The Caritas quickly organized the accommodation of the evacuated persons in other facilities, where 30 of them found refuge in Vienna-Liesing. "We had to leave everything behind: clothing, food, hygiene articles," complained the facility manager Susanne Takacs. In addition to the immediate support, the volunteers of Caritas are ready to help in this difficult time. Caritas urgently asks for donations in the form of money and donations in kind to give the affected men and women a worthy Christmas. These include donations such as socks, underwear and warm clothing as well as food that are important for bridging the coming months. One thing is clear: "Our goal is to let our residents forget for Christmas as possible that they cannot be where we all like to celebrate Christmas: at home," added Takacs.
support offers in Mannheim
In addition, second-hand department stores in Mannheim offer cheap clothing, which is of great importance, especially for people in difficult life situations. The Caritas clothing store manages the output of clothing to people in need and thus offers valuable support. Caritas in Mannheim thus shows its commitment to help people in need and to build a bridge in difficult time.
