Cigarette machine looted: 19-year-old arrested after flight!

In a dramatic incident in Benningen am Neckar, a 19-year-old was arrested after trying to open a cigarette machine on Tuesday (05.11.2024). The young man was presented to the judge at the Waiblingen district court on Wednesday (November 6th, 2024). The alleged perpetrator, a Syrian citizen, was released under conditions.

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. when an attentive witness watched the two men who tried to open the machine on Bahnhofstrasse with a separator. When the witness asked her, the suspects fled. Fortunately, the machine remained almost undamaged, and there was only low damage.

The police reacted immediately and initiated a search that was successful. The 19-year-old was temporarily arrested a little later. The investigation into his accomplice, which is as about 20 to 30 years old, is still 175 to 180 cm tall and described with dark hair. The accomplice wore a black jacket with white sleeves at the time of the crime.
