Bus drivers in the district of Ludwigsburg are coming to warning strikes!

Bus drivers in the Ludwigsburg district are called to warning strikes at the end of this week. The ver.di trade union has announced the strikes for Thursday and Friday, around 30 companies are affected, including city traffic in Ludwigsburg and Bietigheim-Bissingen as well as overland traffic in the Stuttgart area. The reason for the warning strikes is the termination of the first round of negotiations without an offer from the employer, which the union has prompted to put pressure on the Baden-Württemberg Omnibus company (WBO) employers before the upcoming second round of negotiations on January 15th.

A total of around 9,000 employees in the private omnibus industry in Baden-Württemberg are affected by the strikes. Ver.di calls for a salary increase of nine percent and an additional amount of 100 euros for trainees with a term of twelve months. With the termination of the peace obligation on December 31, 2024, the basis for the implementation of these strikes is given.

other strikes in local public transport

as the Tagesschau , ver.di has also accessed further strikes in the collective bargaining for local public transport (public transport) in six federal states. These industrial action will also be planned until the next trial on November 11th. Around 5,500 employees in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Rhineland-Palatinate are subsequently affected. The affected companies include both bus companies as well as rail traffic and freight trains.

The employers' association (AGVDE) only proposed a wage increase of three percent from April 1, 2025. In addition, only 600 euros were offered by an inflation compensation premium of 1,300 euros. In the metal and electrical industry there are also warning strikes in several federal states, in which, for example, around 10,000 employees of Mercedes-Benz are active in Sindelfingen.
