The German Weather Service (DWD) has given a severe weather warning for the affected regions. From this afternoon to early Friday morning, a closed, high snow cover threatens in parts of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, which brings "danger to life and life". Traffic routes could be blocked and the streets are becoming dangerously smooth. In the Alpine regions, snow quantities between 15 and 25 centimeters can be expected, in the southern Black Forest even up to 30 centimeters!

The effects are not only noticeable in Germany. In France, this led to a winter onset in the afternoon, which left 235,000 households without electricity. 1,400 technicians are in use to restore the power supply. Strong gusts of wind and violent snowfall also ensured massive traffic disruptions there, while schools had to close in the past and at Charles de Gaulle airport, flight cancellations and delays are the rule.
