Shield in the train toilet causes confusion: animal products forbidden?

Ostalbkreis. on November 6th at 12.17 p.m. Toilet. A striking shield, in the classic blue and white design, announced: "For reasons of hygiene and from consideration for other passengers, the consumption of animal products is not permitted in this compartment." A call to hygiene or a joke? The confusion was great!

The questions sprout like mushrooms out of the ground: is there such a compartment in every train? Does the ban only affect IRE trains or the Mex trains? And what is meant by "animal products"? Does this only include meat and fish, or butter on the pretzel and cheese on the bread? And why is this sign hanging on the toilet? The passengers were visibly perplexed and excited about the meaning of this strange note.

The vehicle fleet has no information about animal product -free compartments or corresponding signs. The assumption: it could be a joke and someone secretly attached the sign. But the sign looks so real that it could almost go through as a work of art!
