New President for Baden-Württemberg's fire brigade: Michael Wegel takes over!
Sinsheim, Deutschland - Sinsheim-Win-Win for the Baden-Württemberg fire brigade scene: On October 19, 2024, Michael Wegel from Achern was elected as the new president of the Baden-Württemberg State Fire Brigade Association. In his speech, Knödler asked the deputy prime minister and Interior Minister Thomas Strobl to bring more clarity about the unresolved projects from the coalition agreement of the green-black state government. This includes the revision of the State Catastrophes Protection Act and the creation of a contemporary Lebellenstellen Act. Knödler emphasized that the population protection had to be freed from its "Sleeping Beauty" and found that worries about possible nationwide contamination by dangerous substances, a long -term failure of supply networks and an increased terrorist suspicion urgently should be treated."We need substantial improvements in planning, staffing and the financial framework," Knödler appealed, whereby he discussed the need to take into account the recommendations of the Enquete Commission for coping with crisis. The draft law for the new state disaster protection law has disappeared since summer 2023 in the "nowhere", which is concerned.
