View at danger: Experience students what truck drivers cannot see!

As part of a traffic safety campaign, Round Table 161 Esslingen recently organized a practical demonstration for elementary school students. The aim of this event was to illustrate the children how dangerous the dead angle of trucks is and that drivers in their increased position cannot have everything in mind.

A garbage vehicle from the waste disposal company Scherrieble was set up on the site of the Sulzgries primary school. A group of fourth graders was on site to experience how strongly the view of a driver is limited. The nine -year -old Emilia had the opportunity to sit at the wheel for a moment. After changing the square, her classmate Neela took over the wheel to explore the visibility. The two girls were surprised by the restricted view and illustrated how many people from this perspective cannot be perceived. "It's crazy," said Neela about the many people she couldn't see from there. Emilia agreed: "Not even the one in front. You can tell that it can be really dangerous."

The event aimed to raise awareness of the dangers in road traffic, especially for the weaknesses of the view of drivers of large vehicles. This initiative is intended to help the students recognize potential dangers when crossing the street or playing near parking spaces and garages. In urban areas where heavy vehicles are often on the roads, it is particularly important that children understand the risks that affect traffic safety.

Through such practical exercises, the children should not only be taught theoretical knowledge, but they should also develop a feeling for traffic safety. "It is crucial that children learn how to behave safely in their surroundings," said an organizer of the campaign. This practical approach was very well received by the students and remains in the memory.

The importance of such actions cannot be assessed high enough, especially at a time when traffic safety is repeatedly brought into focus. The insight that you cannot see everything could be life -saving for young students and help them to better assess potential dangers.
