105 years of family use: foster parents save 274 children in need!

In the Esslingen district, the hearts bloom! 105 years full of passion and dedication bundled in the hands of six outstanding standby care families. During this time, these tireless helpers lovingly recorded 274 children in crisis situations and offered them a home in their hardest hour.

At an emotional honorary ceremony, Head of District Martin Abel, who is also responsible for foster children and their families, presented certificates and small flower gifts to the families with gratitude. "Your commitment to the weakest of our society is unprecedented!", Praised Abel and also commented on the many moving experiences that the foster families shared with the children. As special recognition, the foster parents received additional vouchers for relaxing visits in a thermal bath.

The work of the standby care family is not easy, and the financial compensation, the so -called care allowance, can hardly have the immense commitment that these families show. Therefore, the specialist service for foster children and their families is looking for supporting hands. Couples, individuals and interested families are cordially invited to take part in information events, followed by preparatory courses to get qualified in the valuable work.
