The division of the offenses shows that serious offenses, such as murders, were not registered in both years. However, there was a positive trend in the theft offenses: While 19 thefts were recorded under difficult circumstances in 2022, this number decreased to 12 cases in 2023. However, a less gratifying development is evident in the crimes against sexual self -determination, which rises from five to eight cases.

No burglaries in 2023

A remarkable point of current statistics is the absence of burglaries. While there were even fewer than ten burglaries in 2022, Knittlingen was completely spared from such incidents in 2023. Other crimes, such as the raw crime, also increased, which shows that not all areas of crime are influenced evenly.

The number of young suspect, which made a total of 13 in 2023, was in similar tracks apart from an increase in adolescents as in the previous year. This indicates that despite a worrying perception in public, the objective numbers reflect a different reality.
