Refurbishment of the B 296: Support wall shines after an expensive conversion!

The renovation of the retaining wall on the B 296 is about to graduate. In the past few months, this important traffic road, which runs between Oberreichenbach and Hirsau, have had to do significant work. These are not trifles, because the costs for the necessary repairs add up to a proud 350,000 euros.

The need for the renovation work resulted from a state that was classified as critical by the responsible authorities. At a dangerous S-curve, right behind the junction to the psychiatric center Calw, damaged veneer stones had to be replaced and the concrete wall crown had to be replaced. In order to carry out the work, a half -sided blocking of the street was set up, which was regulated by a traffic light system.

Current work and traffic impairments

With the progress of the renovation, the wall is now enjoying a fresh coat of paint. Nevertheless, the joy of road users is manageable, because they still have to prepare for delays. Even before the first renovation measure is completed, the next challenge is about: The retaining wall, which leads from Hirsau into the S-curve, is also currently being renovated and is also affected by a half-side closure.

As the district office confirmed on request, the work between Oberreichenbach and Hirsau should be completed by the end of next week. It remains to be seen whether the announced completion will take place without further complications, reports www.schwarzwaelder-bote.de .
