Peter - The apostle: A musical highlight inspires Magstadt!

In the Magstadter Festhalle, over 600 enthusiastic visitors experienced the stirring musical "Peter-The Apostle", which was presented by the CVJM Magstadt and the Christ Community Weil. This event not only captivated the spectators, but also 70 talented teenagers from the Böblingen district, who were on stage together with a young live band. The performance was a firework of expressive songs, emotional theater scenes and creative show elements and took place as part of a Germany-wide performance, which was presented in 2024 in 180 locations by 45 project choirs.

The gripping story

The action of the musical tells of the fear, persecution and violence that the early Christians experienced since Jesus has no longer been with them. But in the midst of these challenges the community blossoms, and miracles happen. The passionate apostle Peter recognizes that his mission goes beyond Jerusalem and embarks on an exciting journey to carry the good news into the world. This timeless message has lost nothing of relevance to this day and touches the hearts of the audience.

The musical has been performed in Magstadt in the autumn holidays since 2022, and the anticipation is huge! Young people from Magstadt, Renningen and because of the city often register for the next musical camp a year in advance. In order to finance the event, numerous pizza snails and cakes were sold that evening, which were a complete success thanks to the large number of visitors. The preparations included an intensive “musical camp” with four days of rehearsals in which the 12- to 19-year-olds practiced the program under the guidance of experienced volunteers.

Adonia - a success since 2001

Adonia, the organization behind the musical, was founded in 1979 by Swiss teacher Markus Hottiger and has been active in Germany since 2001. With over 4,500 children and adolescents who take part in more than 65 camps, musical youth work is growing rapidly. Adonia is a non -profit association that works closely with various churches and is supported by a team of around 1000 volunteers.
