Green branch gives prices: Böblingen celebrates sustainable projects!

In the heart of Böblingen, a radiant sign of sustainability was set on Tuesday evening! The "green branch" - the coveted award for environmentally friendly projects in the district - went into the next round. The event in the Sparkassen-Forum not only brought impressive projects to light, but also a special guest: Olympic champion Yemisi Ogunleye, who won gold in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. For the first time, prices were awarded in four categories: "Ecology and Nature", "People and Social Affairs", "Building and Technology" as well as "Mobility and Transport". A total of 10,000 euros in prize money were awarded, and more than 6,000 citizens voted online! The winners were a real reflection of the engagement in the region: from the EDFC's e-load bike to innovative construction projects such as the environmentally friendly shoe store Breitner-the list is long and impressive!

The ceremonial award ceremony was a real highlight! The Herrenberg local group of the ADFC was honored in the "Mobility and Transport" category, while the Breitner shoe store was honored for its sustainable new building in the "Building and Technology" category. The working group of the Eltingen Citizens' Association, which has been maintaining wetland for over 40 years, received the award for "ecology and nature", and the Sportkreis Böblingen was awarded for its inclusion projects in the "People and Social Affairs" category.

The panel discussion, moderated by prominent personalities, highlighted the significant progress in the field of sustainability.
