The district council decides on increases: fees, bus lines and inclusion in focus!

drama in the Bodenseekreis! On October 22, 2024, the district council made pioneering decisions at its meeting, which affect the future of day care and public transport! Shock for many parents: The fees for day care are increasing! From January 2025, a childcare hour for over-three-year-olds will cost a proud 1.15 euros-an increase of 7.5 percent! And that's not all: Families now have to pay 3.41 euros for Under-Frieders, as well as a strong jump! The last increases only took place at the beginning of the year, and now the parents have to dig deep again. Good to know: social service recipients are freed from the costs and can have the increases checked.

But that's not all! An innovative model project for inclusive childcare in Friedrichshafen will continue until 2026. The aim of this project is to offer children with disabilities better participation and support. A total of five institutions will support, and the Lake Constance district invests strong 612,000 euros in additional specialists and funding offers. A clear step in the right direction!

public transport - improvements in sight!

The Lake Constance circle plans to continue the 700 regional line between Konstanz and Ravensburg, which is already considered a success story! One million euros annually will be put into the budget to maintain the connection even after December 2024. Commuters are particularly enthusiastic who can rely on the soul line 7395, which will continue to drive from Friedrichshafen in the evening at 9:30 p.m. This measure will significantly revitalize city traffic!

Not only the buses - the streets are also needed! The Hödingen (K 7772) passage will be renovated next year. The streets are brought up to scratch between April and September 2025 in four construction phases. But that has its price: the renovation will cost a total of 1.2 million euros! The city of Überlingen also plans to renew the sidewalks and curbs while the construction work is underway.
