Kita contributions increase by 7.5%: Parents have to dig deeper into their pockets!
Überlingen, Deutschland - The price for visiting the daycare center in Überlingen shoots up again! In its last meeting, the local council decided to increase the parents' contributions for the kindergarten year 2024/25 by a whopping 7.5 percent. This drastic measure is intended to cover the increasing operating expenses, as department head Ralf Scharbach explained. The parents have to adapt to a monthly additional burden that will be noticeable for many families.
The new fees concern both the crib and kindergarten places. Parents who bring their first child to the five -day crib have to pay 19 euros more per month from January. For the care, three days a week, the cost of 177 euros increases to just under 190 euros - an increase of around 13 euros. The fees for kindergarten places also attract: In a standard group with 30 hours per week, parents will pay 163 euros instead of 152 euros in the future. All -day groups are even more expensive, with increases between 21 and 24 euros per month.

The SPD recognizes the need for an increase, but demands alternative financing options. Röver proposed to check new models such as property tax C to relieve parents. The FDP also spoke up: City Councilor Andreas Liebich asked whether discussions with the Catholic Church had taken place on greater financial participation in kindergartens. Scharbach confirmed that negotiations run and results should be presented at the beginning of next year. Despite all the concerns, the municipal council voted closed for the increase in daycare fees.
