New cemetery in Bihlafingen: A place of memory and reflection

A new cemetery in Bihlafingen was inaugurated on Sunday with a solemn ceremony! This modern place replaces the old cemetery, which has been accompanied by the community since the 18th century but had been very fell on. Time had left its mark and the need for a fundamental redesign was obvious.

The old capacities were exhausted and the infrastructure was no longer up to date. Visitors had difficulty reaching the cemetery and the care became increasingly complex. With the new cemetery, the municipality has now created a modern, accessible place that meets today's requirements and offers the bereaved a worthy environment for farewell and memory.

A well thought-out concept for eternity

The design presented in 2023 convinces with clear structures and a harmonious overall concept. New ways and stays invite you to reflect, while the well thought -out planting creates a respectful atmosphere. The variety of grave types - from urn fields to an anonymous lawn field to a gift table - enables an individual design of the final resting place and meets the different needs of the community.

"We are proud to open this new cemetery and thus to meet the need for diverse grave types," said Mayor Ms. Stetter at the inauguration. "We have created a place that offers the bereaved space in a quiet and respectful environment of the deceased." Despite unexpected renovation work, the project was successfully implemented within the budget. The municipality of Bihlafingen is invited to use this new place of reflection and commemoration.
