Mietingen is planning a new residential area: Färberbrühl is opened!

In a crucial step for the municipality of Mietingen, the councils decided to open up the "Färberbrühl" building area in their last session. Mayor Robert Hochdorfer emphasized the urgency: "Today is the crucial session. Let's do it or not." A new residential area will now be built on around 1.5 hectares of building land after a development plan was approved in 2002. Despite the high costs associated with the development, the municipality sees itself as a duty to advance the project.

The planning is directed by the Rapp + Schmid office. Managing Director Günther Schmid presented the details: an access from Walpertshofer Straße, a walkway along the Rottum and a ring road in the residential area are planned. The street in the "Färberbrühl" is widened to 5.2 meters, while a sidewalk of 1.5 meters is planned. In order to minimize the costs, however, the laying of empty pipes for broadband expansion is dispensed with, which critically questioned some councils.

Flood protection and cost

The estimated costs for the development amount to around one million euros, including all necessary construction work and street lighting. The councils unanimously voted for the project, with the residents asked for cost reductions. Questions about flood protection were also dealt with: Schmid assured that in a 100-year flood the Rottum would not step over the banks and that the house owners are obliged to secure themselves against backlog.

With the consent of the councils, the "Färberbrühl" construction area is now reality, and the first steps to create new living spaces in Mietingen are taken. The residents were informed about the plans and the community is ready to tackle the challenges of the development.
