Herbert Bader receives a Staufer medal for fire brigade use in Telawi!
Herbert Bader, the former commander of the Biberach volunteer fire brigade, was awarded the prestigious medal of Staufer in Stuttgart last week! This award recognizes his extraordinary merits for the fire brigade and the European exchange.

His commitment is a shining example of living town twinning!
Fire Brigade Aid from Biberach to Telawi
as deputy commander and later commander of the Biberach fire brigade initiated Bader pioneering projects. From 2011, he organized the handover of six disused but fully functional fire engines according to Telawi. These vehicles were not only transferred, but also outdated and adapted to meet the Georgian requirements.
But that wasn't everything! From 2013, Bader regularly traveled to Telawi to carry out voluntary training for the Georgian firefighters. He headed numerous training courses by 2018 and promoted the transfer of knowledge between the two cities. He continues his work in Biberach today!
A model for European cooperation
The successes are unmistakable: The fire brigade in Telawi is one of the best in Georgia today! Mayor Norbert Zeidler praised Bader's tireless efforts and emphasized how crucial this is for the city twinning. "Herbert Bader raised the fire brigade in Telawi to a new level. We are deeply grateful for that!" Said Zeidler.
The Staufer Medal is awarded every two years to personalities who work for the common good and European integration. In addition to Bader, seven other outstanding personalities were awarded. His merits will be remembered for a long time in Biberach and Telawi!
