Musical support for dementia: Seniors inspire at the benefit concert
Big appearance for the district senior wind orchestra (KSBO)! In the Aalen district office, the cheerful seniors ensured a rousing experience for the 11th time at their benefit concert. Under the motto "Music against Dementia", the evening was all about an important topic: support for people with dementia and their relatives. With the best atmosphere and first -class music, the vigorous musicians from conductor Peter Rott attracted an enthusiastic audience.
District Administrator Dr. Rainer Bläse welcomed those present with the words: "You are in the right place." The focus of the event was the challenge of bringing dementia more into the public, as the speakers Jutta Fallenbüchel from the German Red Cross and Martina Felber illustrated by the Maltese. The donations should help to obtain urgently needed musical instruments, because music has a healing effect in working with dementia patients.
a varied program
The lively performances of the KSBO ranged from classic march to operettas to modern hits. The musical pleasure began with the concert march "Comrades forever", and the audience was particularly surprised in a saxophone solo by the conductor in "You Raise Me Up". From the "melody sequence from" Mask in Blue "to the" Highland Cathedral " - each piece kidnapped the audience on an unforgettable journey. Highlights such as the "Billy's Rock Party", in which the audience was encouraged to participate, ensured an exuberant atmosphere.
The concert ended with calm sounds when “Hey Jude” gently ended the evening from the Beatles. Hubert Rettenmaier, chairman of the Ostalb brass music association, praised the KSBO for the excellent performance and thanked everyone involved for a successful evening, which not only opened the hearts but also the wallets. An impressive example of how music can build bridges to people!
