33 new fire protection officers in Lehrte: training successfully completed!

Lehrte celebrates: 33 firefighter heroes did it!

On Saturday, October 26th, 2024, it was an exciting day for the Lehrte city fire department - 33 dedicated fire department members passed qualification level 1+ (QS1+) with flying colors! This important step under the new training policy is the result of months of hard work and intensive preparation. The aspiring lifesavers completed practical weekends and comprehensive online basic training that prepared them for service. The exciting final inspection took place under the watchful eye of the city fire chief and represented the culmination of the modular basic training.

Now the newly qualified firefighters are ready to start working as active firefighters in the local fire departments! The exam not only tested essential basics such as creating rescue knots and setting up a four-part extension ladder, but also simulated realistic operational scenarios in which what was learned was immediately applied. “This first year of training has provided us with valuable insights that we will use to further optimize the training in the coming year and adapt it to the special requirements in Lehrte,” emphasizes Fabian Meyer, the deputy city training manager.
